Getting Snap Happy With My Kodak Photo Printer

As I mentioned in my last Weekly Edit, I recently worked with my good friends at Very and won a few things, the Kodak Photo Printer* being one of them. Lucky, huh? It couldn't have come at a more perfect time too since my camera roll is literally bursting at the seems with summer snaps.

For starters this piece of kit is so easy to setup and use. Basically you just plug it in, download the app, and you are good to go. You can also connect to it using multiple ways, including a USB port, wifi, and if you have an iPhone you can just slide it into the dock using the flash adapter.

The app is also easy to use, which is good because I barely have the brains to do anything nowadays since most of my time is spent having to deal with a rowdy 18 week old.

The design is sleek and compact. I love the fact it is portable too, you could possibly make it a bit of a party piece?

The pictures themselves are good quality, but obviously that is dependant on what you are taking the picture with in the first place. I used my Olympus Pen EPL 7 for all my prints.

It is so impressive for such a little device, although it is definitely a considered purchase. If you like photography and print quite a lot then it is probably worth your buck. If you are only a fair weather photographer who doesn't require a lot of prints, I would say not to bother.

The only issues I had was that it really struggled with printing its 5 photos maximum. At one point one of the photos got jammed, but I am not sure whether this was just a teething problem or not.

I also found the sizing quite baffling. If you choose auto resize you tend to get a white border around the image, although if you resize it yourself and get it wrong, the quality may suffer. Again, I guess it all depends on what you have taken the picture with in the first place

In conclusion I absolutely love it! I think it would make the perfect gift for any occasion, but also if you really wanted to indulge the photographer in you.

Love, Jo
