Review: YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick

Autumn. The time for dark lipsticks and mega marshmallowed hot chocolates, right? Well, almost! I have recently been wearing the new Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Shine Oil in Stick* in 46  to death. Shocker, I know! A pink! Who'd have thunk it?

Not me! That's who. A matte girl at heart, taking the plunge and trying a glossier lip product is quite the challenge, but I gracefully took one for the team.

It applies shiny at first then dulls but in a good way. It feels like it settles? Like most makeup, often after about 30 minutes it looks so much better than it did when you first applied it. It has nice colour pigmentation and is actually more pinky then it first appears.

As you can see from the swatch on first application it is pretty sheer but also very moisturising.

It is relatively longish lasting too. I found that it didn't necessarily need liner either as after a couple of hours the middle had worn off but had left the outer edges. I think maybe a couple of touchups is needed.

I guess I don't really need to talk about the packaging, because, well, just look at it! It's one of those lipsticks that I see in my bag and I'm all like; heart eyes emoji.

What have you been wearing this September?

Love, Jo
