18 Good Things.

Since we are now in 2018 I thought I would do a little round up of things that were good in 2017 and things that I am looking forward to in the next year.  You know, put my positive pants on and well, be positive!

01. Phoebe was born; Probably one of my biggest achievements to date really. Giving birth to a healthy baby girl will always be my biggest highlight. Ever.

02. I learnt some life lessons the hard way;  Like, if they are not your family.. They are NOT your family, and don't ever be expected to be treated as such. You definitely teach people how to treat you by what you allow, what you stop, and what you reinforce. Shout until you are heard.

03. I breastfed exclusively for 4 months; I know, you will probably be thinking 'Well! That's not for very long, is it?' But let me tell you, it's TOUGH, and I'm proud of myself yo.

04. I think it is also important to mention I now have a very happy/bouncy 9 month old, who sleeps through the night.. that bit is very important.

05. I am hoping for big things in the coming weeks including my very own photography site. That is, as soon as I pull my finger out.

06. I bought Lightroom and Photoshop to up my blogging game. I can't wait until I become semi decent at it.

07. I also purchased my own domain. I have had a url redirect for so long it is nice to be able to to have flourishnblotting.co.uk all to myself. Although, it does mean my DA score starts from scratch again!

08. I got to work with some great brands last year including Avril CosmeticsLeesaFragrance DirectSongfinchPlayaVeryLatest in BeautyLansinoh, and Lilikim to name but a few.

09. My Instagram snap was also featured in Blogosphere Magazine. I gotta celebrate the small stuff ya know!

10. I met Jackie; My sounding board for all things mummy/life/EVERYTHING.

11. I decorated the house from top to bottom. Well, my dad was a big help of course. There are only a certain amount of things you can do at 8 and a half months pregnant. I have really enjoyed picking out new things and giving everything a much needed lick of paint. However, there have been a few things I have learnt along the way; Wallpaper is the work of the devil, and theres nothing that can't be fixed with a good throw.

12. January will see me returning to work. I can't quite believe it's been 10 months already but I am really excited for some adult company. I have also managed to drop a day and move closer to home in the process, so all good things.

13. I plan to have my nose in a book as often as I can. I am determined to take more time out for me this year, and if that means turning the tv off for 10 minutes before bed then so be it.

14. 2017 has definitely seen some really good tv series; Stranger Things 2, Line of Duty,  Broken, The Good Place, Taboo, C4's The Great British Bake Off, and not forgetting all 10 series of Friends on Netflix.

15. Knox got better from being poorly. I think this was one of the lowest points of the year and £800 later we still don't know what was actually wrong with him!

16. We had our first successful holiday as a little threesome. Believe me, I was seriously doubting whether taking a 3 month old abroad would be a good idea, but actually, it kind of made her? She got better at being in the car and more tolerant of being out of routine.

17. I completed Blogmas.. sorta. I think I missed 1-2 days out of 25. I took all my photos in one go, and then wrote my posts and edited my pictures in between Phoebe napping. Hashtag mumlife.

18. And to finish on a positive note, if you saw my latest Instagram post you will know 2017, and even the end of 2016 wasn't the best time for me. To be honest it has left a lot of damage in its wake, so fingers crossed for  a brighter year.

What have been your highlights of 2017?

Love, Jo
