Life Lately; A Kind Of Weekly Edit.

So, a lot has been happening over the past month and I just felt like giving you all a little life update. I love reading these sort of posts, not my own obviously because I just think I’m boring, but they really appeal to my inner nosiness nature.

Ho Hi Ho! It's off to work I go.
Honestly, it’s much of a muchness. 10 months feels like it has just melted away and never really existed, which is really weird and sad at the same time. Phoebe has started nursery 4 mornings a week which leaves me to spend all day Friday with her. It is definitely a day I look forward to the most.

LVL Lashes to the rescue.
Purely to save me time in the morning, and let me tell you, I need all the help I can get, so I got LVL lashes done. Apparently they last up to 8 weeks with no apparent damage to their condition in the long run. Admittedly, they aren’t as dramatic as semi-permanent lashes, which was what I originally thought of having but I will see how I get on. Overall the procedure took just over an hour, was slightly uncomfortable, and used some pretty stinky products. I’m not sure whether my experience was just a one off, maybe it’s something for a future blog post? Let me know in the comments if it’s something you are interested in hearing about.

Living the McMafia life.
And all the good TV. I plan to re-watch all the series of Spiral too. Can you believe James hasn’t seen them?!

My 2018 goals update.
I have started reading before bed, tentatively may I add. I am trying not to put too much pressure on myself because some nights you just feel like going to bed and watching something mindless and light hearted on the telebox, right? I also got my first bath of 2018...and that’s not to say I haven’t been showering! A bath is an absolute luxury to a new mum, or just a mum in general. Those 20 or so minutes when it is just you, bubbles and possibly a lit luxe candle or two is just bliss. I suppose when the opportunity to do something is so rare it’s always going to be special.

I got new gigs.
As much as I love my old pair from Bailey Nelson, I desperately needed some new gigs, and even an up to date eye test. During pregnancy your eyesight tends to change, only slightly so I am told, but I have really felt like my vision has gone that tiny bit worse since having a baby. I picked out some Ray-Ban frames which I will feature in an upcoming blog post.

My neck, my back.
In an effort to look after myself a bit more, you know, all that self-care stuff yadda yadda yadda I booked some private physio appointments to finally get my back straight after having Phoebe. After a session of acupuncture it certainly isn’t quite there yet, but I did have the best night’s sleep I have had in a long time, so definitely worth the pennies. I am also going to try and start yoga again, I do a couple of recommended strengthening stretches a night, but if I can do a little bit more I feel like it will get better that much quicker. One piece of advice I would give you if you are in the same boat, apart from seeing a professional, is don’t do it if it hurts. Stop! You could be doing more damage than good. There is no such thing as no pain no gain when it comes to back problems!

I’ve gone back to my roots so to speak.
I have gone totally dark again with only a few browny/caramel highlights poking through. I have to say at first I hated it, admittedly every time I looked in the mirror I was a bit taken a back and felt like crying, dramatic much, but now I love the change. I feel like me again, you know? My hair also feels healthier and easier to style. I just have to try and keep Phoebe off it now because she has a frequent tendency to rip chunks out of it.

And that’s it! Busy huh? How are you?
