My 2017 Beauty Products.

I know it is probably a little late to be doing a 2017 review kinda post, but better late than never, right? Also, this post has taken me a little longer to write because I wanted to make sure that these products were thee best of the best, if you catch my drift?

I spoke about the Moon Mask in my recent Glossier post. This mask has been a game changer for me. It leaves my skin smooth and plumped, and just generally refreshed. I try and apply it at night after I have removed my makeup and toned my skin. If I apply it in the morning I usually try and go makeup free that day to really feel the benefits. It’s easy to apply, and instead of drying on your skin you can actually feel it being absorbed. I remove it with a warm muslin cloth and pat dry.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5*
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid  2% + B5*
This oil has been an absolute godsend to my evening skincare routine. I can actually feel this tightening and reducing the baby induced stress lines that have appeared on my face recently. It is unfragranced, easy to apply, and is absorbed into the skin quickly which is perfect when you are just ready to jump into bed. I would be quite tempted to see how this product faired under makeup just to give my skin that extra bit of hydration during the day, but so far it is has rivalled and won over my love for Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate. You can read about a few of the other products I have tried from The Ordinary here.

Stila One Step Primer
Stila's One Step Correct
I am so sad that I am nearly out of this primer, if only it was a little bit more affordable! I love it so much there’s no doubt I won’t repurchase it, but still.. This really sets the base for my makeup. In fact it is the best primer I have ever used thus far. I have combination skin and I barely have to touch up during the day whilst using this. I also quite like using this product on days when I don’t want to wear any makeup at all. It mattifies and also makes my skin look slightly less blotchy. I wrote a full review of this primer at Christmas, you can read it here.

Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Liquid Eye Shadow in Kitten Karma
This is the only glitter eye product I own. Don't get me wrong, I own a lot of shimmery shadows, but nothing like this. It is completely buildable too which is perfect for day to night wear. I have written a full review on the Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Liquid Eye Shadow here.

The infamous Urban Decay Naked Heat palette. Never did I think I could pull off copper shades until this palette came along. Let’s just say it opened up a whole new world of makeup possibilities for me. Truthfully, it did take some getting used to, especially when you are a makeup novice such as myself, but I feel like I am really getting to grips with it now and I just love the pigmentation, texture, and the shade compatibility. You can read all about my first thoughts here.

Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir
Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir
I know this isn’t the newest product but I discovered it last year, so that counts right? Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir has definitely been my favourite scent of the year and believe me, I have trialled a lot of new perfumes but this one has been the stand out one for me. You can read all about my favourite scents here.

Lush Sleepy
Sleepy is the most reassuring moisturiser there ever was...a reassuring moisturiser? If that wasn’t a thing, it is now! I literally go to bed smelling of a baked lavender cookie. Not only do I wake up from the most amazing sleep, I also have super soft skin. It’s win win.

Glossier Boy Brow
This has got to be my favourite brow gel I have tried. It works even without filling in your brows first for a more natural look it’s that pigmented. I love how it keeps them in shape throughout the day too. The formula is thick and keeps well in its tube. A lot of brow gels I have used tend to be much dryer, or even dry out in their tube after only a couple of uses. The spooley is small and really handy for getting down to the nitty gritty. And by that I mean the thinner parts of your brow that you may find tricky with a thicker brush.

Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look in a palette
I know I have already featured a palette in my 2017 favourites, but I just had to mention this beaut as being the one product which James complimented me on after using. This palette covers everything from cheeks to eyes, and although it claims to be a ‘natural’ look, I do believe there is a tiny bit of glam in there too, just something that enhances your every day face.

What have been your beauty product must haves from 2017?

Love, Jo
