Disneyland Diaries: Day One.

Disneyland Paris
I am always going to call this the holiday that nearly didn’t happen. It’s a long, and stressful story, and one that I won’t bore you with now! Obviously we did manage to get on the plane in the end, and boy! Am I glad we did! Since my trip to Walt Disney World in 2015 I was seriously craving some Disney magic.

Come fly with me..

Our flight was very uneventful, and short, thank goodness! Phoebe slept the whole way, and after picking up our hold luggage we went and found the bus that would take us to the happiest place on earth. The bus ride was only about 50 minutes, and because we were staying at the Sequoia Lodge it meant we were the 2nd drop off.

Our digs

The hotel itself was absolutely gorgeous. The theming was beautiful, and although Bambi has never really been my favourite Disney film, all that was forgotten here. After checking in we received our park tickets and instructions for dining. The room was plenty big enough for the three of us, and Phoebe was also given the option of bed bumpers or a travel cot, which was perfect.

After unpacking we went and grabbed a quick sandwich from Earl of Sandwich and headed into Disneyland. The weather was really on our side as we managed to avoid the only real shower we had whilst we were there. By this time it was about 4pm so we only had a couple of hours till our dinner reservation at our hotel. Suffice to say I had a pretty tough time avoiding all the shops in the Disney village, vowing I would visit them all later.

The happiest place on earth

After a bit of exploring, we only really managed to ride Star Wars before we had to head back, but Star Wars is in fact one of my favourite rides at Disney. Dinner was buffet style at Hunters Grill, which suited phoebe down to the ground. After turning vegetarian there were loads of options for me too, but we found the buffet much better in Beaver Creek Tavern, its sister restaurant.

After dinner it was pretty late so we decided to just head into the Disney village, spend some birthday money, and have an early night; baths, Disney channel and bedtimes. I ended up picking up a lot of things on my wish list including a giant Minnie Mouse for Phoebe (it’s as big as her, and she carries her around, giving her hugs and kisses. It’s the sweetest thing) some mini figures and a bubble wand, again for Phoebe, and a hoodie with Minnie ears for me.

Stay tuned for day two!
