A First For Jumpsuits.

Frill Layer Jumpsuit
Like I keep saying, this year is the year I'm stepping out of my comfort zone when it comes to fashion and trying new things. One of those new things was a jumpsuit.

Admittedly, at first they felt, and looked, a lot like jammies, and if you know me you will know how much I love my pyjamas. However, wearing them out is a completely different ball game. I really appreciate how comfortable and light the material is, but over time I have honed in on that feeling of not being totally confident in what I am wearing, and unfortunately the jumpsuit gets a big fat no from me.

That being said, the print is absolutely divine. I think a design anything bigger than that would just look loud and a little bit abrasive? The straps are adjustable, and I love the little frill detail around the collar. I think the small detail of the collar is needed as it just adds that little bit more interest in a jumpsuit that might have been slightly on the boring side otherwise.

On a positive note I like the fact you don't have to think about co-ordinating. Thinking up outfit ideas is the bane of my life, and I love that that decision is taken out of my hands. It's a good job this jumpsuit is relatively versatile then as I chose to pair this outfit with my Adidas Superstars, but I believe sandals, wedges etc. Will also do the job.

I know what you are all thinking. Is it easy to get out of? And the answer to that is; it is very easy to get out of. The zip is high enough to reach yourself, and the sliding mechanism is smooth and doesn't jam at any point. I actually wore this without a bra as I felt like it wasn't particularly necessary, but be warned of feeling even more exposed than usual on toilet trips.

Other things that this jumpsuit has going for it is the fact it has pockets, and also this shade of green is so flattering. It's not as harsh as black, and not as vulgar as neon colours.

Although, I can honestly say this style is not for me on this occasion. I may try again next summer, but I think I prefer traditional and classic summer dresses than the jumpsuit alternative. I think that has more to do with my body type though. I am quite gangly, and at 5'8 I just don't think this looked as good as it would on a more petite person.

I may try a couple more styles, possibly a more fitted approach and longer legs, before I completely give up on this look though. What do you think?
